At Shore Medical, we are able to offer our patients many different types of contraception.  There are 8 coil fitters and 5 implant fitters across Shore and we are now able to offer a weekly coil and implant service.

Please see below a full list of our comprehensive contraceptive services:

  • Progesterone only pill (POP)
  • Contraceptive patch
  • Mirena coil (IUS)
  • Copper coil (IUD)
  • Implant
  • Injection

We also offer Emergency contraception.

We aim to provide initial consultations within 48hours, this can be by telephone, webchat, face-to-face in one of our clinics or by video-link from your own home. We have two clinics in Dorset:

Shelley Manor, Beechwood Avenue, Bournemouth – Monday and Tuesday each week, 8:30 – 16:30

Lifeboat Quay Medical Centre, Lifeboat Quay, Poole – Wednesday and Thursday each week, 8:30 – 16:30

Women seeking abortion care will also be offered the full range of contraception methods, as well as STI testing.

It is really important to know that you can self-refer to our services without the need for a GP appointment by calling central booking system CBS number – 03457 304030 .
