Shore Adult Mental Health Service.

The service is for all Shore patients age 18+. We understand that your mental health is as important as your physical health.

Multi-disciplinary team consisting of:

  • GPs when appropriate for ongoing care
  • Adult mental health Nurse therapist dealing with complex mental health symptoms and assess need, refer to specialist services and potentially treat mental health difficulties within Shore GP Surgeries
  • MIND mental health practitioners offering short-term interventions to address issues with mild depression and mild anxiety.
  • Health and Social Care Workers providing time-limited support for patients with long term physical health conditions, social isolation, domestic violence, and accommodation issues.

You may be referred into this team by your GP or through our Care Navigation team from our Klinik portal.

  • They are a registered mental health charity that provides free or low-cost counselling depending on your income. They are currently operating.

  • They offer counselling to those in the community who find it difficult to access counselling. In particular, the service is provided on an affordable contribution basis to those on a low income. It doesn’t specify on their website about the types of counselling they offer but they should be able to give you information when you give them a call.

Oaks Counselling

  • 07580 502179
  • They are matching you with a qualified practitioner in your area and they are currently providing support. You can either call their number or fill out a form for referral. Their cost of sessions is £40 for individuals. The initial assessment is charged at half price: £20 for individuals.

Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service for Shore Medical

  • 0-19 years service for Shore patients.
  • Referrals via patient GP.
  • Mental Health issues or problems such as anxiety/depression as diagnosed and requiring early intervention.
  • Consultations offered by our Child & Adolescent Nurse Specialists – Jodi Bennett and Nicola Roscoe.
  • Treatments including CBT techniques, mood enhancing techniques, behavioural management, coping strategies and talking therapy.

Suicide Bereavement Service – Dorset Open Door
