Coronavirus Information

Current Covid restrictions will remain in force until the 19th July as a result of the impact of the so-called ‘Delta’ variant, first identified in India, which is fuelling a rise in Covid cases in parts of the country. Whilst this new variant looks to be more infectious, the good news is that growing evidence shows our vaccines to be highly effective, especially after two doses.

Anyone over the age of 18 can now book an appointment, so Please accept the invitation for your vaccine – and your second dose when it is due.

If you think you are eligible for the vaccine but have not received the link, please email vaccinequeries@dorsetgp.nhs.uk and we will book you an appointment at Heatherview Medical Centre Alder Park, 2, Alder Rd, Parkstone, Poole, BH12 4AY

Please remember that all vaccinations are by invitation only – this enables us to ensure that our vaccination centre remains safe for patients and staff alike.

It is essential that we have the correct contact details for you so please take this opportunity to update us if necessary – you can do this via the NHS App which is free to download.

We are now inviting:

  • First Vaccines: ALL those aged 18 years or above including those who may have previously declined a vaccine or missed a previous appointment.
  • Second vaccinations: 40-49-year-olds who had their first vaccine more than 8 weeks ago

All those in previous cohorts who have not yet had their first vaccination including household members of immunocompromised*, clinically vulnerable, carers & frontline social or healthcare workers.

You may have received a letter from NHS England inviting you to book your vaccine online at:- www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination .  Please be aware that this is for the mass vaccination centres only and cannot be used to book an appointment at one of our clinics.

The whole team has gone above and beyond working many additional hours and we could not have done this without the army of volunteers helping us who have been flexible and stepped in at short notice
